Italk >> GoTalk - Need to redirect landline to voicemail box - Suggestions?
Italk is being phased out. Its an IP calling service with a comprehensive web based interface. I have Italk set up so calls to our landline are directed to a voicemail box and then the messages are emailed to us.A tidy way of coping with people who insist on calling our land line since we don't use it anymore.I am having fibre installed and Slingshot is saying that I can only have GoTalk which looks like it is a pure IP calling service where you have to use an app to make calls etc. I have been told it doesn't have a voice mail facility.Time to start again, any suggestions from setting up voice mail for my land line number?

Fibre Available - But Not?
Hi, just wondering if there is a difference in fibre availability between Chorus and Slingshot. Chorus maps and a phone call from them confirm fibre is available at my address. Talking to Slingshot they says its not available now, but scheduled for next month at the earliest and therefore won't put the request through?Potentially only another week or 2 to wait but would be good to get underway. Anyone have any more info on this or anything i can add to a phone call? Chorus have given me a Site ID to use when talking to Slingshot.

Slingshot fibre how is it?
Hey.I've been a bigpipe customer for a while on 100mb unlimited fibre for $79. Very happy with experience so far.Until recently I got special offer from slingshot fibre 100mb unlimited for $59. This offer is specific to my address and is 12 month contract.I know it's 1 year contract. But hey it's 20 bucks a month less which is $240 savings a year + free router...What I'm afraid of is to get locked into contract with poor speeds and unstable internet =/ Anyone using slingshot fibre could share thoughts / experience? Thank you guys!

Slingshot IPV6
Last night we enabled IPV6 for Slingshot xDSL (EUBA, LLU) on our Northcote BNG which services most of the North Shore, Auckland area.If you live on the North Shore and have an IPV6 enabled modem, reboot it and it should allocate you some IPV6.We will be rolling out the rest of NZ for Slingshot xDSL services in December and UFB in the new year.- Enjoy

Slingshot Price Plan Changes
Can anyone let me know when the plans changed? I was on 80GB and received a lovely email in May 2016 letting me know I was a valuable customer and I was being given an extra 20Gb. Nothing about a reduction in price from $84.95 to $74.95 though. SS tells me the two aren't related and I would love to verify this.

Intermittent outages - Slingshot acknowledged problem in area but now won't
So over the last few days I've been having intermittent connection issues with Slingshot in Tawa, Wellington. I logged a call and was advised there were problem in the area and sure enough, the connection came right again without me having to restart the modem again. I lost connectivity again last night in the same way (DSL light rhythmically flashing, no internet light showing) which I believe indicates my modem can't sync with the exchange.I've done the usual replugging of everything but no dice. How likely is the issue going to be the modem vs something else, esp if a problem was acknowledged? I really don't want to have to buy a new modem just to complete their help desk scripted solution.

Recently moved to slingshot - issues sending MMS
Hey all, I recently moved to slingshot, and now I cannot send MMS messages. I know I have to get a cash allowance, which I have done, but still no luck. I found the APN settings and manually changed these and still nothing.I am however using facebook messenger to handle sms and mms, could this be the issue instead of a setting somewhere? Anyone else experienced an issue with either?

Using a non-provided modem with Slingshot UFB?
The router they rented me is a terrible Netcomm thing which barely works so I'd prefer to use my own existing router which is an ASUS RT-N56U. This probably isn't a supported configuration but I don't really care.So far I've managed to extract the PPPoE username and (apparently randomly generated) password from the provided router and have inputted this into the ASUS. I also set the MAC address to the same as the Netcomm in case that matters. The internet works but seems to die intermittently and the logs confirm that every time connection is established it's immediately terminated, which leads me to believe it's an authentication problem:Jan 4 15:09:36 pppd[522]: PAP authentication succeededJan 4 15:09:36 pppd[522]: LCP terminated by peerJan 4 15:09:36 pppd[522]: Connect time 0.0 minutes.Jan 4 15:09:36 pppd[522]: Sent 0 bytes, received 0 bytes.Jan 4 15:09:36 RT-N56U: WAN up (ppp0)Jan 4 15:09:37 PPPoE: ConnectedJan 4 15:09:37 RT-N56U: WAN down (ppp0)Jan 4 15:09:37 PPPoE: DisconnectedJan 4 15:09:39 pppd[522]: Connection terminated.Jan 4 15:09:39 pppd[522]: Sent PADTJan 4 15:09:39 pppd[522]: Modem hangupHas anyone done this before or have any pointers as to what's going on?

Billing Problem with Slingshot
After six months with Slingshot two additional charges have appeared on my mobile account I do not understand.I am not saying the charges are not legitimate or justified, simply that I do not understand them.I have a file of emails on the matter in which Slingshot answer questions I have not asked, given me irrelevant information, or sales spiel I do not need: But have avoided answering my questions. This is the last in a long line of irritations I have experienced with Slingshot. Perhaps Slingshot and I were not meant to be!Does anyone on the forum know the name, titles, extension number, have someone who is paid enough and cares enough about their job to answer my questions concisely and in plain English.I don't believe Slingshot is any worse or any better than the other ISPs, this episode is really a sad commentary on the state of help centers of New Zealand ISPs.Thanks.

Who is Slingshot really...
Recently I have regularly been experiencing an intermittent internet connection and have been logging faults with my ISP Slingshot. The level of customer service I have received has been at both ends of the scale. And when I say customer service I'm referring to the interaction, assistance, communication and the experience when engaging with a staff member due to a request for service - not necessarily the outcome of that request.Anyway, as I result I started doing some investigating..... it turns out Slingshot's parent company was CallPlus (no surprises there), CallPlus was sold to M2 which, most recently, was purchased by Vocus Communications and as it turns out Vocus Communications also operates under the names Orcon, Flip and 2talk in New Zealand.Found on the Vocus Communications' website to describe their company Slingshot, appears the following:"Since launching in 1996, Slingshot has been on a mission to disrupt the telco industry, and give Kiwis great value internet services backed with awesome, New Zealand-based service.Over the past decade Slingshot has built what we call the Better Network, the largest independent telco network in New Zealand. This network lets us drive down costs, pass savings onto consumers, and provides a backbone that delivers rock-solid, speedy internet."A word of caution to you Kiwis, before you sign up for great value internet services This statement may be misinterpreted. To clarify, it appears to me that the word 'service' used in this statement is in reference to their 'awesome New Zealand-based infrastructure', not customer service.PS. Does anyone know where to find a SLA between Slingshot and it's customers? Oh, there doesn't seem to be any level of service on offer, only Terms & Conditions. Is anyone responsible for ensuring the delivery of customer service from staff to customers, at Slingshot? In the meantime it will be interesting to see how long it takes for them to get back to me about my enquiry as to whether my account has an account associated with it, and if so the expiration date. I'm on the hunt for a new ISP that shows it cares about its customers . . . .Rant over!

Help with slow VDSL speeds
So I've been back and forth with support for a week now and am back to square one, every email reply is from a different person, I've been ask for acc detail 4 times in a week between 20 email conversion, does slingshot just hire 100 tech support on minimum wages who doesn't give a *, instead of 10 good ones.Ever since Dec 2016 on ADSL2 download speed can barely maintain 300kb/s, even after upgrading to VDSL a week ago nothing has change, where as downloading the same link on bigpipe would hit 7mb/sSupport seems to be set on pointing towards the speedtest numbers and telling me everything is normal. The new modem (NetComm NF4V) given with the VDSL upgrade has been left on default settings.Surely there must be some kind of throttling going on as nothing has change on my end and seeing that linetest shows the full 49mbps, but that's a ridiculously unreasonable speed to be capped at...Sorry for the rant, am I out of option other than to pay the 200$ dc fee just a week in and find a new isp

PPTP Site-to-site VPN cannot connect through NF4V on VDSL
Hey guys,Having some connection issues with my wifes VPN for her work (Wanaka to Auckland) It seems to point to an issue with either the Netcomm NF4V or the VDSL service.VPN works at a friends house on Slingshot ADSL (NB604 modem) but will not connect at my house.I have tested with two NF4v modems, both have the same issues, I have also done a firmware upgrade to remove the Slingshot branded firmware and still the same issues.I have port forwarded TCP 1723 and UDP 1701, 500 and tried with ALG on and off for both IPsec and PPTP, Even tried disabling the firewall for a second but no change. I have set up virtual servers on the port and set static IPs for the VPN and tried a few combinations of these settings too... Issue is present on two different machines and I cannot even telnet to the remote server via CMD or Terminal. Testing has been done on both wifi and LAN with no change.Ive had the VPN admin check and they cannot find anything either.Keen on any ideas... I've run out. The error is:"The Network connection between you computer and the VPN server was interrupted. This can be caused by a problem in the VPN transmission, and is commonly the result of internet latency, or simply that your VPN server has reached capacity. Please try to reconnect to the VPN server. If this problem persists please contact the VPN admin and analyse quality of network connectivity."My settings are:Slingshot VDSLNetcomm NF4vMachines tested: Surface Pro 4, HP Envy and Macbook Pro.Cheers,Joe.

Poor ADSL connection in town
I moved into a new flat and the current people here have been having issues with the internet constantly dropping and very very slow speeds.I have been looking into it and there are odd issues using tracert where everything is timing out some times or hitting a 3000ms on some hops or some getting alot more hops. Completed some speed tests last night and i got 0.6Mb download on ADSL2+ and we are located in town. From what i know the flatmates have rung up and complained but all slingshot said was it is there fault and it has to be the wiring causing the problems. (The flatmates don't know much about routers etc so took it as it is their fault. And they have rung many times.)ADSL filter i replaced this morning with no improvements at all in the quality.I do not have access to another ADSL router to try as all of the ones i own are gig ones for fiber. These are the traces that i just done to google.First Hop is my router for my system in between my Nasbox etc but the traces look the very same when i am directly plugged into the router. I really don't know what to do as the account isn't under my name (Under other flatmates) and there is a $200 cancellation fee.For my study i need pretty good internet and this is just ruining it. Any one have any other ideas?

Internet Issues - SLINGSHOT
Hello all - My family and I are at our wits end with an internet issueWe have been dealing with Slingshot and she's been a hard slogMy wife, computer illiterate and my 13 year old knows more than meMy wife has talked a few times to the customer service people and I have both talked and emailed the tech support teamIn a nutshell, there is a download issue, it crawls and only barely, you connect fine on either wireless or ethernet but any download does not functionSlingshot have a process that they like you to follow, involves DNS Server changes, Running a script (bat file) etc, we have done all sorts, Slingshots requests and our own investigations, have tried a lot of thingsTracert and pathping using the CMD function shows the culprit, early time out either at or near modemWe have had very little in the way of direction of basic help from SSSUMMARYLine Speeds are fine - both wired and wireless, no issues - tested plentyNew Modem has been reset plentyAffects PC and Laptop to the same levelTried both PC and Laptop at another location under a different network and all fine .... so dont believe it is any settings or firewalls in any computerWe can read Stuff and Trademe and vaguely watch youtube with plenty of buffering going on, when you download anything it will take 2 to 15 hours Any ideas on what else we can try ?Much appreciated - CheersAaron and Jenny

Fibre Speeds non existent internationally
Hi AllI'm currently experiencing fibre speed issues. these issues only arrised in the last monthAt the moment doing a linetest or even speedtest to a server in New Zealand my speeds are 102Mbps download and 24Mbps upload which is fantastic as my plan is 100/20But as soon as I check against servers overseas my speed drops to as little at .73Mbps but upload being fine I have done a full throughput test for Slingshot and got an email back saying there is no issue, but calling them back they said they couldn't find a fault. I've reset the router. flushed DNS. had slingshot fix the dns in the router as it wasn't going anywhere.there definitely seems like there is a fault as i am unable to download my antivirus program or any other program. i can't update my Ps4 Every time i try and download a program from an international source they connection just times outI am wanting to upgrade to Windows 10 but can't until i get the international speeds as my antivirus program isn't from NZ On a separate note when doing a connection on my ps3 and ps4 i get a message at the bottom of the page stating the router doesn't support ip fragmentation. I've been unable to find any decent information about this and am wondering if anyone can shed some light on fixing this
