Hi everyone, i decided to post my problem here to see if anyone is able to help me before i call Slingshot for help.So basically me and my brother recently moved out of home and to a flat in Hamilton, we decided to go on the Slingshot AYCE plan as that was what we were using at home and it was great, the only difference is we opted for naked DSL AYCE for our flat and as a phone we are using voip. Everything was set up fairly fast, we done a speed test and are getting about 5.7 mb's down and 0.70 mb's upload which isnt as great as what we had at home but still decent. Unfortunately we later found out that we can't go on Slingshots beta network with naked dsl which ultimately might be the cause of our problem. So me and my brother are huge gamers, we play world of warcraft alot and we have good latency but we have a really weird issue, whenever either me or him browse, stream, or dl we get massive lag spikes on games we play, for example i'm chilling on wow decided im gonna alt tab and browse google for 10 seconds, alt tab back into wow and my ping has shot up to 8000 MS, complete spike and after around 20 seconds when the spikes end, MS is back to normal. Me and my brother are both on the same network hooked into a router which hooks into the modem, even if im playing wow and he's the one that decides to google on his computer i have a giant spike and vice versa. The phones don't seem to be affected, i can browse while he talks and no issue, but if hes on skype or a ventrillo server soon as either myself or he browses a page a giant spike follows disconnecting us. For some reason we just cannot do 2 things at once, skype, games, vent servers, they all spike massively every single time we browse a page. We never had this issue at home granted at home we had about 8mb but 5mb should easily allow us to browse a page while we play a game surly. It's really done my head in i don't know what to do anymore, i've tryed a totally different modem, i've tryed skipping the router and plugging directly into the modem, ive brought totally new network cords, nothing seems to make a difference. A friend of mine said to play around with the mtu settings or something, i did and it didn't help. Is it because we aren't on the beta network and instead on a different one which makes our connection weak or something? Still, it doesn't make sense to me a 5mb connection won't allow us to browse and play a game at the same times its bizzare. I also tryed loading up wow then alt tabbing and browseing a page whilst pinging google to see if there were sudden jumps, but there were none at all i then jumped into wow and sure enough its spiked bad.I've tryed other things aswell, from what i can tell our internet stays solid even when we browse yet games etc spike so bad to the point of disconnection whenever we do. Help please!
