Hi all,Dumb question time...But hopefully someone from Slingshot can help out.I was setting up my son's router over the phone over the weekend and was changing the DNS addresses to an unblocking service so they can do the usual Netflix USA thing with their Roku. We couldn't get the addresses to register and the SmartDNSProxy site kept telling us the DNS was not set up properly. Long story short, we just could not get it going even after factory resetting router and loading the backup file we made. I decided to get him to install Team Viewer so I could log in remotely (he's in Christchurch and I'm in Auckland). Anyway, after doing a bit of checking in the DNS tab, I discovered that the PPPoA interface was active and the PPPoE was not and was showing as disconnected. As soon as I set up the DNS servers on the PPPoA interface everything worked. My question is this: what is the correct interface for VDSL? Slingshot's site says PPPoE and my routers have always been setup with this for my previous VDSL connections. My son called the Helpdesk and was told that they are definitely on VDSL (they are only getting 11mb download and 1mb upload...which sounds suspiciously like ADSL to me...). I was going to change it on their router but then realized if I did and they were in fact on ADSL then it wouldn't work anyway. Can anyone shed some light on this and advise if I am correct or if i am actually just talking bollocks?Cheers.
