Slingshot Unlimited Price increase?

So, I'm a little confused. I just received this email from Slingshot, who will be increasing the price to $70 for the Unlimited package (I signed up when they had the contract free offer on). Snippet of the email:

Over the next week we will be increasing the amount of bandwidth allocated to your unlimited plan, which means you should notice faster speeds throughout the day. We want to make it easier for you to watch movies, listen to music and do all the things you love online without having to worry about your broadband speeds.

To make this possible, the price of Broadband UNLIMITED is increasing to $70 per month from 23 Aug 2012 , your next bill date.

This increase will help us to improve your home broadband experience and make sure you get the most out of your unlimited plan.

We're also re-introducing Broadband 250, which costs just $60 per month if you have your Homeline with Slingshot. This is a great alternative for those that use less than 250GB of data a month and want to keep paying only $60. If this sounds like you please visit www.slingshot.co.nz and login to My Account to change your plan.

So, I will go up to $70, but the their site is still offering the package at $60 for new customers (on contract this time).

It just seems that I'm now being penalised for signing up during the offer period, for the EXACT same service (sans contract). We're still using the same allocated bandwidth, so why do I have to subsidise the new signups?

Or am I missing something here?
