I moved into this house in 12/2013 ordered my Slingshot broadband with phone line. Not a problem until Oct/Nov 2014. That was the time when Chorus changed the power poles in our street and wired the power and phone lines to it. From here on out nothing but problems.First my phone line was dead. No dial tone. DSL still connected with a 3rd of the speed. Contacted Slingshot tech support and they had me run an isolation test. Did show nothing, so they logged a fault and sent in a Chorus tech. He went up the pole, down the pole. Phone had a dial tone again. YayUntil a week later or so DSL started dropping and as soon as it came back on it dropped again right away. When it does connect and stays on, DSL sync speeds are half sometimes only a third of what they normally are. At this point I called Slingshot to log faults a whole 4 times and had 3 technicians here. One apparently "replaced a module in the cabinet" according to Slingshot. The drop outs are still happening.I have two jacks in my house. One in the kitchen/dining room and one in the bed room. I have no alarm system (whether the old owner of the house had one, I do not know). I have no SKY TV. The only thing connected to the phone line is the phone and the modem router. I have tried to just plug in the modem with a line filter/splitter, as well as without the line filter/splitter. I tried my second modem. I have tried both modems with both jacks. I switched out the line filter/splitter, as well as the cables connecting the modem to the jack. The phone line is connected from the power pole on the street to house near the roof. I went up there to have a look if there seems to be anything wonky. The cables that I found and believe are the phone line cables seem to be fine as far as I can see. I am not a technician though. This I would call a normal connection on a good dayDownstream/UpstreamConnection Speed 19215 kbps / 1113 kbpsLine Attenuation 5.5 db / 3.7 dbNoise Margin 12.3 db / 10.3 dbHere is an example of what I get a lot of the timeDownstream/UpstreamConnection Speed 6483 kbps / 920 kbpsLine Attenuation 7.5 db / 4.7 dbNoise Margin 11.6 db / 6.0 dbNoise margin varies greatly. The lowest number I have seen was -12, the highest number was 47.5 db. My question is where do I go from here? Is there anything else I should do to find out where the problem lies or is logging another fault with Slingshot my only option?
