Hi All,Looking for advice with respect to line speed on a Slingshot ADSL. I live in a rural area that in the last year or so had 2 new RBI cabinets installed along the main road.When the RBI cabinets were installed, we appear to be the most unlucky in that we are roughly equally placed between them. Although we are 5.7km from one and 4.7km from the other.Currently i get a sync speed of 2.7mbps down, and believe that probably equates to being connected to the cabinet 5.7km away, and that if connected to the one 4.7km away I could maybe expect 5mbps plus. When speeds are this low, an extra couple of mbps is everything!We are on ADSL2, we have a master filter fitted and when I had a line fault in the past Chorus tested the line at the gate and indicated max speed there was about 3.5mpbs.I have been speaking to Slingshot about this, and after a couple of good conversations with the tech support team, I ended up talking to the connections team. Now lets start by saying the person on the line really didn't care about my questions and desire for more speed, however I'm pretty sure what she said was wrong... can anyone comment on the following for me:* She said we are connected to the Bombay exchange and only that will determine line speed* When i indicated that I thought i might be on a cabinet that aws not the closest to me, she corrected me, indicating the cabinet distance made no difference* I indicated that the chorus network capability map doesn't seem to agree with that, and basically she said, tough, chorus say you are on the closet one.At that point I gave up!Am i just asking for the impossible, to see if I can maximize line speed by getting connected to the closet cabinet to me? When the tech support team rain a line provision test, it indicated that 5 - 7.5mbps should be possible.Thanks in advance for your responses!
