Something weird is going on, almost certain of this now, Slingshot ADSL throttling. Around about 14th of October, my speeds took a nose dive to about with about 25% of what the general peak speed use to be. I cannot for the life of me get usual downloads to go any faster, when before they were pretty much at near line speed.Steam downloads for instance use to peak consistently around 2.2 - 2.3 MB/s easy for the last 2 years or so, now I am lucky to get 1.6 - 1.7 MB/s. Everything thing else in general from all over, download sources are way down. I have even purchased a new ADSL modem to test out if the old modem had and issue, they are both the same (put the old modem back in place).I done a heap of speed tests, before this slow crap started happening I was getting consistent 18-19 Mbps, now all I can get is 14 - 15 Mbps. I live right next to the exchange cabinet, literally only a few meters away. No way slingshot are going to say anything to their customers about this, I be pretty sure they will just drive the knife in the customers back and twist it for good measure. My line rate connection is just a high as its ever been, can definitely feel the brakes are on hard.There is no way I can prove anything, and yea I would be open to slander because of all the so called "variables", but I have reason to believe the unlimited ADSL plan from slingshot is being throttled as of recently. I was on the 250GB plan (no issues), and was assured that the new unlimited $89 plan a few months back had the throttling removed from it, which I had no issue with the change over (just the same as the 250GB plan). If I were to guess, then it may have something to do with the $89 unlimited plan being adopted by current and new customers, many will be in this ship now and it something had to be done to keep it floating, throttle the speed.
