Ok so I've had 100mb fibre for quite a while now and I used to get line speed on most http (filelocker) downloads (assuming it wasn't peak/school holidays etc) Lately no matter the time of day (early hours of the morning) be it a weekday or holiday I can't seem to break 3mb/s when the same server used to provide line speed (or close to it) So have slingshot put in some heavy throttling for these servers? steam and origin will still roll down at linespeed most of the time (assuming cached though) or is something else going on? this has been going on for well over two months at this point and I'm getting a bit fed up since I pay the extra for 100mb and would be nice to see it even once in a while. I'm guessing throttling because it always seems to sit at 2.75mb/s (using multiple connections to the server so it's not a single thread issue) exactly there doesn't ever appear to be any fluctuation except when the download starts and it's very quickly bought back down. I had this problem when I first got fibre and now it seems to be back...ugh very close to just leaving slingshot in the rearview mirror. I'm posting here because I know it's totally useless to ring customer support since they will have me run a speedtest which will come back fine and they will say "well we see nothing wrong and we can't guarantee speeds to any source" but I'm not asking for 100% speed 24/7 but seeing it uncapped occasionally would be nice considering the amount that is charged for 100mb over 30mb (which is basically what I am currently receiving) Edit to add spacing (opps) and to add a few more details in case...new router has been tried (just this week infact) different servers give same similar speeds, using wired connection for testing and the downloads are running using multiple threads (as said above) and doesn't matter if it's at 4am I still get 2.75mb/s.
