Back in 2012 I was assured on this forum that as I have broadband with Slingshot I could also use dial-up.I was recently (a month ago?) on the "My Account" part of the SS website and I noticed the "activate Dial-up" link.Huh, I thought, you must have to click that to enable dial-up, so I did click it. All good, or so I thought.Last night we couldn't connect to the internet via our ADSL modem. End up calling Slingshot who tell us our broadband has been switched off and we are now on dial-up only, and that you can't have both! And that now I have to wait up to 8 working days to get reconnected! Why was there no warning on the SS website that I would be cut off from broadband? How come I didn't get any emails letting me know it was about to be cut off? Why do I have wait up to 10 days for a switch to be flicked to turn it back on?I'm very pissed off, with myself sure, but also with Slingshot for making it so easy for me to stuff up with no warnings whatsoever, and that it's going to take so long to rectify. Also for the fact that I get conflicting messages from different Slingshot personnel regarding the broadband plus dial-up option.
