Advice on SS upgrade to Better Network or VDSL

Hi,I'm in need of a little bit of advice on upgrading my broadband. I'm on an old SS broadband plan that isn't on their BN. I used to keep up with all the advances and wholesale arrangements etc, but I'm well out of date now.

I know i'm connected to a cabinet now, stats at the bottom of the post. What I'm curious about, is if i connect to SS's BN, (the website says it is available at my address), Does my connection end up back at the exchange on SS's equipment, or still the cabinet? I don't want to upgrade to save ~$20 a month just to see my connection speed drop.On a similar topic, I'm probably one of the few people that still has a homeline that isn't with my broadband supplier, so with SS's pricing there is a definite incentive to change my Homeline to SS, I'm assuming that a homeline on their BN is still a traditional phone line? not a soft phone system like on the ndsl plans? And if it is a traditional copper line, does that go back to the exchange while broadband stays cabinet? or does this simply not matter and i'm over thinking this all?As far as vdsl goes, am I right that this is currently a wholesaled chorus option? (this also says on the website it is available at my addess). is there a downside to being on chorus gear? and can anyone fill me in on the uplink speed, i'm not overly worried about the downlink.Just for background information, I only consume 20-30gig a month, I'm don't game and don't really use p2p, i just have a household with 7 devices connecting to the net.Current connection stats.997 up / 14.471 downoutput power - 12 up / 19 downattenuation - 6.5 up / 12 downSNR - 12.5 up / 12 down Bryan
