This is insanely frustrating. I lost my internet connection in last nights storm in Wellington after a lightning bolt hit the ground about a kilometre away from my house. Phoned slingshot twice last night, no reports of nearby faults, ran a full isolation test with 2 different modems from all the jack points in the house, and both modems give me the same response: an intermittent slow DSL light blink, followed by a fast blink which then stops dead 10 seconds later. Rinse and repeat every 30 seconds. Logged a ticket with slingshot, they're getting a Chorus technician around on Tuesday. :o For someone doing webdev, that's absolutely ridiculous. Checked with the neighbours, they've got a connection. Went under the house, everything looks good. Quite honestly I cannot wait until Tuesday to get this fixed. Any ideas for a desperate a Wellingtonian?
