Someone signed me up to Slingshot without my knowledge

Now this is extremely bizarre.

Wednesday was like every other day, then I got an email from slingshot advising my broadband will be connected by 8th March, normally you would be happy to see this however if you never signed up in the first place this would seem odd!

I called them immediately and advised I never signed up to a ADSL plan (I am on fibre though a different ISP) whoever signed me up had some basic details and the CSR determined it must have been a fraudulent sign up and he would cancel it immediately. I obviously am concerned and checked I hadn't lost any ID.

I thought this would be the end of the matter, however I got a further email saying my phone line had been connected! This was strange as I no longer have any copper going to my property. I called again and they advised the first rep didn't process the order correctly to prevent connection. (At this stage I am not very impressed as I had been signed up to something without my knowledge as despite me advising them it wasn't me, the phone was connected)

The second call I made the CSR advised they couldn't do anything other than to disconnect the phone. I then asked how do I know this will be done as the first one said it would be done. They put me on hold and after holding for 5 mins they said it would be disconnected.

I am feeling quite puzzled as even after two calls they still hadn't done anything. They also advised since I didn't sign up the account would be deleted off the system.

Now I have received an email saying my broadband is connected?? - I am beginning to wonder if anyone in slingshot actually understand the issues they have and are continuing to create. Namely;

I never signed up in the first place, someone obviously had enough details (name, address email and DOB) - this is a fraudulent connection

Despite advising immediately after the email, they must have connected to somewhere other than here as my property has no copper anymore.

After the number of calls I have made to advise slingshot this wasn't me, they still processed the order??

They have my personal details without my consent and performed a credit check without my consent.

I am obviously getting billed for a connection that I never asked for!

I am asking other forum members for help as I know slingshot monitor these threads and now it's in the public arena it might actually get resolved.
